Jordan Council of Ministers to reduce duties on imported steel products

According to recent news in the market, Jordan Council of Ministers has recently decided to reduce duty on imported steel and cement from 30% to the level of 20%. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Jordan Ministry of Industry and Trade was in preparation of taking certain measures with respect to steel industry in the country. The decision of reducing steel duties was announced previously however to what level they would be reduced was not announced. Upon the scope of subject measures, apart from the reduction in the duties, new regulation on steel prices is planned to be implemented and exports of certain steel products to be restricted.
