Jindal Steel & Power to expand capacity

Indian steel producer Jindal Steel & Power Ltd is reportedly planning to expand the capacity of its mill at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh to 2 million tons by 2006. The current production capacity of the mill is 500'000 tons however it is planned to be increased to 1 million tons by December 2004. The expansion plan is stated to require an investment of Rupees 20 billion ($431.8 million), which will be funded through loans and internal accruals.
