Jiangsu Province to cut 11.70 million mt of steel capacity in 2017-18

China’s Jiangsu Province has announced that it plans to eliminate 11.70 million mt of steel production capacity in the 2017-18 period and to improve steel capacity utilization rates back to normal levels by the end of 2020.
 
Jiangsu Province had previously stated that it planned to cut 17.50 million mt of steel capacity for the 13th Five Year Plan period (2016-20).
