JFE Steel to establish a new blast furnace in Kawasaki

According to recent market reports JFE Steel Corp., established back in April 2003, is aiming to speed up establishment of the new blast furnace at its Kawasaki mill with a purpose to meet increasing steel demand from Asia which is expected to keep its upward trend for a while and from China due to 2008 Olympic Games to take place in Beijing. It is stated that this new blast furnace will increase annual production capacity at the Kawasaki mill by 500'000 tones up to 4 million tones and is scheduled to launch production by the end of May next year.
