Japan's HR steel strip shipments down 2.9 percent in Nov from Oct

In November last year, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet shipments decreased by 6.9 percent compared to the previous month and were up by 6.5 percent compared to the same month of 2015, amounting to 863,000 metric tons. 73.6 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 26.4 percent were made to the export markets, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) data. 
 
In November, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet production amounted to 823,000 mt, down 7.6 percent month on month and rising 0.8 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in November, Japan's hot rolled strip shipments amounted to 1.45 million mt, down 2.9 percent from the previous month and falling by 5.6 percent year on year. 26.9 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 73.1 percent were made to the export markets. In the given month, Japan's hot rolled strip production amounted to 1.49 million mt, decreasing by 0.6 percent month on month and down by 2.6 percent year on year.
