Japanese industrial production falls for first time in 12 months

In February, Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial production declined by 0.9 percent as compared to the previous month, showing a decrease for the first time in twelve months. However, on a year-on-year basis, the country's industrial production witnessed an increase of 31.3 percent.
 
In February, seasonally adjusted iron and steel production in Japan rose by 4.2 percent, while producers' iron and steel shipments increased by four percent and iron and steel inventories were up 6.5 percent, all compared to the previous month.
