According to the statistics provided by the Italian Ministry for Infrastructures and Transportation, in August this year Italy's new car registrations increased slightly year on year. In August, 70,303 new units were registered, up 1.51 percent compared to August 2010, while the local auto market is is still depressed, indicating stability with a low order volume.
In the month of August, Italy's main car manufacturer Fiat sold 20,491 new cars, decreasing from 21,162 units in August 2010.
