Italy’s flat steel imports from non-EU countries up 35.3% in 2013

In 2013, Italy's steel exports to non-European Union (EU) countries totaled 5.345 million metric tons, down by 6.4 percent, while its steel imports from non-EU sources totaled 6.856 million metric tons, up 16.5 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai.

In particular, in 2013 Italy's flat steel product imports from non-EU countries increased by 35.3 percent, its flat steel product exports to non-EU destinations decreased by 12.1 percent, while long steel product exports to these countries rose by 4.6 percent, all year on year.
