Forli, Italy-based Ferretti Group, a world leader in yacht construction, has officially commissioned a new production plant in Brazil, near São Paulo, through its subsidiary Ferretti Group Brasil.

The new facility, operational since late 2010, covers an area of 45,000 square meters, employs over 600 employees and has a capacity of 120 vessels per year with a maximum length of 83 feet.

The investment follows the strategy line taken by the Ferretti Group in recent years on the Brazilian market, with the aim of steadily improving the already good performance recorded in the country. In line with the excellent response of Brazilian customers at the last boat show in Rio de Janeiro (April 27-May 3, 2011), the group has recorded total sales of over €35 million from boats produced in Brazil.

"In the Brazilian market we have collected 80 percent of the total sales expected for the period up to August 31," announced Giancarlo Galeone, CEO of Ferretti Group. He added, "We have also received new orders of over €200 million for next year and this can only make us confident."
