According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in May this year Italian crude steel output rose by 6.9 percent year on year and by 7.59 percent month on month, totaling 2.64 million metric tons. Italian crude steel output in the first five months of the current year increased by 8.1 percent year on year to 12.06 million metric tons.
Federacciai also released Italy's long and flat steel output data for April this year. Accordingly, in April Italy's long steel output was up 6.3 percent year on year and down 6.2 percent month on month, totaling 1.18 million metric tons. On the other hand, in the same month Italian flat steel output reached 1.28 million metric tons, increasing by seven percent year on year and decreasing by 10.5 percent month on month.
