Italian bank group UniCredit and the Italian association of construction companies (ANCE) have recently signed an agreement aimed at promoting the national construction sector. Accordingly, UniCredit has made available €2 billion in funding for the next two years in order to finance new residential projects and to assist Italian construction companies which have activities outside of Italy.

Unicredit's CEO Federico Ghizzoni said that the banking system can contribute to speeding up the economic recovery and to promoting transparency in the property market. To exit from the economic crisis, added Mr. Ghizzoni, it is necessary to adopt a new national development policy for infrastructure and to help companies who want to invest in new green technologies.
