Italian industry turnover up 0.1 percent in Oct from Sept

According to ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in October this year the turnover of Italian industry increased by 0.1 percent month on month and by 1.1 percent year on year.

In October, on month-on-month basis, the seasonally-adjusted turnover index in Italy increased 3.6 percent in for instrumental goods and 0.3 percent for consumer goods, but decreased 2.1 percent for intermediate goods and 1.8 percent in the energy sector. Compared to October 2010, the strongest performances in Italian industry in October this year were observed in coke and oil refinery production, up 17.3 percent.

With regard to total orders for Italian industry, in October this year there was a month-on-month decrease of 1.6 percent and a year-on-year decrease of 4.8 percent.
