Iscor becomes Mittal Steel SA

As of March 11, 2005, South African steel producer Ispat Iscor will now be known as Mittal Steel South Africa. The company’s name was changed from Ispat Iscor to Mittal Steel SA on March 11, 2005, following approval from company shareholders. The name change signifies the company’s link to Mittal Steel, which is set to become the largest steel company in the world following its merger with US steel company International Steel Group (ISG) later this spring. Abbreviation of the new name is Mittal SA, and its code is MLA, sources report.
