Australian iron ore miner IronClad Mining Limited (IronClad) has announced that an extensive series of drilling programs have commenced at the Wilcherry Hill iron ore project aimed at shortly completing a bankable feasibility study to increase the direct shipping ore (DSO) resource. The programs are being conducted in parallel and up to four drilling rigs are scheduled to be on site.

The company's Wilcherry Hill iron ore deposits are located 40 kilometers north of Kimba on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula.

A company press release said that IronClad is fast tracking the Wilcherry Hill project into production of up to two million mt a year of its high grade and low contaminant DSO. Production is planned to commence in the final quarter of this year.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, IronClad has already signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chinese steelmaker Linzhou Iron and Steel Co. for the sale of a minimum of one million mt of iron ore a year through Port Adelaide.
