Iron ore inventory at Chinese ports registers first increase in 10 weeks

As of January 4, total iron ore inventory at 30 major Chinese ports amounted to 74.74 million mt, up 1.6 million mt week on week, recording the first week-on-week increase in the latest 10 weeks, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics. Meanwhile, the total iron ore inventory on the given date was 21.87 million mt lower compared to the same time last year.

As of January 4, at Chinese ports inventories of iron ore from Australia and Brazil increased by 970,000 mt and 640,000 mt respectively, while inventory of Indian origin iron ore decreased by 60,000 mt, all on week-on-week basis.
