Iron ore exports via Port Hedland up 28.35 in February

In February this year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland decreased by 3.08 percent compared to January this year and were up 28.35 percent year on year, totaling 35.67 million metric tons.
 
According to the information released by Port Hedland Port Authority, in February of the current year iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 30.25 million metric tons, increasing by 0.34 percent compared to the previous month and up 41.75 percent year on year. South Korea and Japan followed China in February, receiving 2.54 million mt and 1.74 million mt respectively.
 
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Atlas Iron and Fortescue Metals Group in the iron ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
