Iranian state-owned miners exploited 28.93 million mt of run-of-mine iron ore and produced 23.24 million mt of iron ore in the first 11 months (21.03.2009-20.02.2010) of the current Iranian year, showing little change year on year, according to newly published figures from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
In the period in question, state-owned miner Chador Malu produced 8.75 million mt of iron ore, Iran Central Iron Ore Co. produced 6.60 million mt of iron ore, while Gol-e-Gohar produced 4.82 million mt of iron ore. Additional volumes were produced by smaller state-owned iron ore miners, including East Iron Ore and Jalal Abad.
