Following the petition they filed to the Iranian government, state-owned steel mills in Iran have been granted permission to recommence their export activities.

Since March of the current year, Iran's largest public sector steelmakers, namely Mobarakeh Steel Co., Khuzestan Steel Co., and Esfahan Steel have been banned by the government from performing exports, on account of the high demand as well as the climbing prices in the local market.

The tonnages the state-owned producers can export will be limited and will vary according to the future course of the local market. The global reduction in steel prices has reportedly encouraged the Iranian government to ease some of its restrictions.
