Iran has announced plans to build a new steel plant in Kazakhstan - as part of the economic cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan agreed during Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Tehran for the Caspian Sea summit on October 16.

The new plant is to have an annual production capacity of one million metric tons of steel.

Since the project is still in the development stage, details such as the location, investment total and product range of the new plant have not been provided.
