IPSCO donates $500'000 to Red Cross
Canadian steelmaker IPSCO announced a contribution of $500000 to the Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross for Katrina relief efforts. The aid will help the hard hit communities of Mobile and Baldwin counties, where most IPSCO employees live. It will also help shelter and assist the many refugees in Mississippi and Louisiana. Our thoughts are with our employees, their families and neighbors who are living through an overwhelming situation in the gulf coast, said IPSCO president and CEO David Sutherland. We hope this donation in some small way can help in the recovery process. IPSCO also announced a matching grant program, in which the company will donate one dollar to the Red Cross for every dollar employees donate to Katrina charities of their choice. The company has already supplied trucks filled with gasoline, fuel, bottled water, high protein foods, generators, and ice to the Alabama steel plant to help assist the local community.IPSCO donates $500'000 to Red Cross
