Essar Steel Processing and Distribution (ESPD), the flat steel processing arm of India-based Essar Steel, has announced that it has commissioned a service center facility in Dubai that will cater to the needs of customers in the Middle East and neighboring regions.

The new steel center located in Jebel Ali Free Zone South, Dubai, UAE has a processing capacity of 250,000 mt per year. The facility includes three state-of-the-art hot rolled cut-to-length, hot rolled slitter and cold rolled & galvanized iron combination (slitting and cut-to-length) lines. Thanks to this new steel center facility, ESPD has increased its international service centre capacity to one million ton per annum.

Processed material will be shipped to countries like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain by road. For local customers in the UAE who are entirely dependent on imports, ESPD Dubai will supply just-in-time deliveries.

Meeting demand in the Middle East region will allow ESPD Dubai to explore the markets in the neighboring areas.

ESPD targets to become a five million mt per year capacity servicing chain. ESPD presently operates 3.3 million mt per year capacity in India with seven service centers, besides one million mt per year capacity internationally with three service centers.
