Australian miner IMX Resources Limited has announced that the Cairn Hill mining operation, which is operated by Termite Resources NL (Termite), has completed loading its three millionth metric ton of iron ore. The shipment in question will leave for China from Port Adelaide, South Australia. Termite has been making two iron ore shipments per month since June 2011.
"This is another significant milestone for the Cairn Hill mining operation. The implementation of cost reduction initiatives earlier this year and maintaining our targeted shipping rate has enabled the operation to sustain a positive cash flow for the company," said IMX managing director Neil Meadows.
