Handan Iron and Steel to modernize hot rolling mill at Handan factory

Austrian plantmaker Siemens Metals Technologies has announced that it has received an order from Chinese company Handan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. to modernize the process automation system of the hot rolling mill at the company's Handan factory.
 
Siemens stated that there is no need for additional plant downtime. The modernization is scheduled for completion at the start of 2016.
 
Handan Iron and Steel Group has a steel production capacity of over 45 million mt. The hot rolling mill produces hot strip with a width of up to 1,680 mm and produces 2.5 million mt every year, manufacturing high-grade steel for use in the automotive industry, shipbuilding and pipeline construction, and also corrosion-resistant structural steels and deep drawn steels.
