GoSource Italy, a part of China-based GoSource Group Ltd, has restarted graphite electrode production at its Narni plant in Italy, according to media reports.

With an investment of €30 million over a three-year period, GoSource Italy plans to reach a production capacity of 30,000 mt per year.

However, it has been indicated that the production is proceeding slowly for now. Accordingly, the company expects to produce 6,000-8,000 mt of graphite electrodes by the end of the current year.

GoSource Group acquired the former SGL Carbon Group graphite electrode plant in Narni in August 2017, with the partnership of US-based SANGRAF International. The graphite electrodes produced at the plant will be marketed and sold globally under the SANGRAF International brand.
