According to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), in the first two months of this year there was a nickel supply shortage of 3,700 mt in the global market.
In the January February period this year, global nickel ore production totaled 273,800 mt, up 46,200 mt from the same period last year, the WBMS said. Meanwhile, apparent consumption of nickel in the first two months of the current year was 59,000 mt higher on year-on-year basis.
