Germany’s passenger car output rises 12 percent in February

According to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Germany's passenger car output in February this year rose by 12 percent year on year to 506,300 units.
 
During the month in question, new passenger car registrations in Germany increased by 15 percent year on year to 224,500 units, while passenger car exports rose by nine percent year on year reaching 377,800 units.
 
In the January-February period of 2011, Germany's total passenger car output reached 922,400 units, up 11 percent, passenger car exports amounted to 690,600 units, up 10 percent, while new registrations increased by 16 percent to 435,600 units, all compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
