German wholesale metal prices down four percent in 2012

As reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in December last year the wholesale selling prices of industrial products in Germany were 3.2 percent higher compared to December 2011. In November, the year-on-year increase was 3.2 percent. Meanwhile, the wholesale price index remained unchanged in December compared to the previous month.

In December 2012, the wholesale prices of ores, metals and semi-finished metal products in Germany were down 1.4 percent as compared to December 2011 and were up 0.3 percent compared to November 2012.

In 2012, the wholesale selling prices of industrial products in Germany were 2.8 percent higher compared to the previous year, while the wholesale prices of ores, metals and semi-finished metal products in Germany were four percent lower compared to 2011.
