In October this year Germany's crude steel output amounted to 3.7 million metric tons, increasing slightly from the previous month and down four percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl).
WV Stahl said that crude steel production in Germany in October decreased for the first time in four months on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in the January-October period of this year, Germany's crude steel production reached 45.4 million metric tons, rising by three percent as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
On the other hand, in September this year Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.08 million metric tons, up by 5.7 percent year on year, including 1.92 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 1.6 percent year on year, and 1.16 million metric tons of long steel products - up 20.7 percent year on year.
