Georgsmarienhuette shows interest in Arcelor-Mittal plants

Georgsmarienhuette Holding GmbH, Germany's third largest steel producer, may be interested in acquiring plants of the merged Arcelor-Mittal Steel Co NV that are put up for sale during the merger process. Arcelor and Mittal plan to sell three facilities in Poland, Germany and Italy in the course of the merger. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, the other German steelmaker Salzgitter is also interested in buying the steel mills in Italy and Germany.
