Freight volumes on China’s waterways up 9.4 percent in January

In January this year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 572.64 million mt, increasing by 9.4 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 809.29 billion mt-km, rising by 2.8 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
