According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-August period this year, France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €6.09 billion, decreasing by 5.3 percent year on year.
In the given period, France imported €1.25 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 0.8 percent, €306.36 million of cold rolled steel bars - down one percent, €474.69 million of cold rolled steel strip - falling by 3.8 percent, €287.17 million of cold drawn wire - declining by two percent, and €1.24 billion of metal structures and parts - decreasing by 1.6 percent, all compared to the same period of 2018.
