France’s GDP stable in Q2

In the second quarter of the current year, France's gross domestic product (GDP) remained unchanged year on year after a 0.9 percent of year-on-year increase recorded in the first quarter, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE).

During the same period, in France household consumption expenditure declined by 0.7 percent quarter on quarter, after a 0.4 percent increase recorded in Q1. Meanwhile, France's import value fell 0.9 percent quarter on quarter after a 3.2 percent increase in the previous quarter, while the export value remained unchanged quarter on quarter in Q2 after the 1.7 percent increase recorded in the previous quarter. Consequently, the foreign trade balance contributed positively with an increase of 0.3 percent to the GDP rate, after a 0.5 percent decrease in the previous quarter.
