Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-April period this year totaled RMB 286.78 billion ($45.2 billion), up 0.1 percent year on year, with a total of 19,002 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, rising by 95.4 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, in the given period the direct investments made in China by Singapore, South Korea, Japan, the UK and Macao China increased by 53.6 percent, 57.2 percent, 7.6 percent, 63.2 percent and 77.3 percent, respectively, year on year.
