Foreign direct investment in China down 9.2 percent in January

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in January this year totaled $12 billion, down 9.2 percent year on year, with a total of 2,010 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 0.31 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).

In January this year, $3.026 billion of foreign direct investment (FDI) went into China’s manufacturing industry, down 9.5 percent year on year, accounting for 25.2 percent of the total FDI figure, while $8.867 billion of FDI went into the country’s services industry, declining by 9.3 percent year on year, accounting for 73.9 percent of the total.
