Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-April period of the current year totaled RMB 286.41 billion ($41.63 billion), down 0.1 percent year on year, with a total of 9,726 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 17.2 percent year on year. In April alone, foreign direct investment (FDI) in China totaled RMB 59.91 billion ($8.71 billion), down 4.3 percent year on year, with a total of 3,343 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, rising by 42.7 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
In particular, in the January-April period this year FDI by the 28 European Union countries in China increased by 9.3 percent year on year.
