The Materials Works Ltd. (TMW) of Red Bud, Illinois, announced Tuesday plans to build a $20 million flat rolled processing center adjacent to the $1.3 billion Big River Steel mill project, which is now under construction just south of Osceola, Arkansas.

Construction of the processing center is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2015, with operations starting in time for Big River Steel’s grand opening in 2016. The first phase of construction will include a 110,000-square-foot facility to house cut-to-length and slitting lines capable of processing material up to half inch.
