Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the fourth quarter of 2011 its overall pellet production decreased by 1.2 percent year on year to 2.55 million mt, while its total pellet output for the whole year dropped to 9.81 million mt, down 2.2 percent.
In the last quarter of 2011, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 1.9 percent year on year, amounting to 2.33 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate saw a decrease of 25.7 percent year on year to 218,200 mt.
Meanwhile, in October-December 2011, Ferrexpo registered an 8.2 percent rise year on year in its iron ore production to 7.94 million mt, while its iron ore concentrate production saw a 4.2 percent rise year on year to 2.96 million mt.
