Ferrexpo appoints BHP Billiton’s Jason Keys as chief marketing officer

Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that it has appointed Jason Keys as its chief marketing officer.
 
"Jason joins from BHP Billiton where he is currently global marketing manager for iron ore. Jason brings with him significant industry experience in both the European and Asian iron ore markets having lead BHP Billiton's iron ore commercial marketing team over the last five years. For the 12 years prior to that, Jason held senior sales and marketing roles within BHP Billiton coal and Rio Tinto coal and iron ore," reads Ferrexpo's statement, adding that Mr. Keys is to be key player in strengthening the company's position as an important supplier to the global seaborne pellet market.
 
Ferrexpo's current producing asset, Ukraine-based Ferrexpo Poltava Mining, produced approximately 10 million mt of iron ore pellets in 2010 making it the largest exporter of pellets in the CIS. Ferrexpo has a diversified customer base supplying steel mills in Austria, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany and other European states, as well as in China, India, Japan and other Asian countries.
