FAI in China's water conservation projects exceeds RMB 900 billion

Chen Lei, China's minister for water resources, has stated that in 2017 China launched 16 new water conservation projects, exceeding the original target of 15 projects. At present, construction has commenced on 122 of the 172 key water conservation projects approved by the State Council of China, with fixed asset investment (FAI) in the projects under construction exceeding RMB 900.0 billion ($138.5 billion).

Mr. Chen indicated that the accumulated investment in water conservation projects in China since 2013 has amounted to RMB 2.64 trillion ($0.41 trillion).
