Exports of Mittal Galati to the EU not to change much

Five-year antidumping duties imposed by the European Commission on hot rolled flat steel products imported from Romania, China, and India ended on August 11, 2005. Romania's largest exporter Mittal Steel Galati (formerly known as Ispat Sidex) announced that its hot rolled flat steel exports to the EU have not been significantly affected by the antidumping duties imposed by the EU. Therefore, expiration of the subject duties is not expected to increase the company's exports to the EU significantly, or to reduce its exports to the other countries. In August 2000, the EU imposed an individual antidumping duty rate of 5.7 percent on hot rolled flat steel imports from Mittal Steel Galati.
