EU initiates AD investigation on silico-manganese from three countries
On July 24, 2006, the Comité de Liaison des Industries de Ferro-Alliages (EUROALLIAGES), on behalf of producers representing a major proportion of the Union's total production of silico-manganese, filed a complaint to the European Commission (EC). The complaint alleges that silico-manganese imported from China, Kazakhstan and Ukraine is being dumped, thereby causing material injury to the EU industry. Since the complaint provided sufficient evidence that the volumes and prices of imports of the subject merchandise from the three countries had a negative impact on EU industry, the EC decided to initiate an antidumping investigation into silico-manganese imported from China, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The investigation will determine whether countries have been dumping their exports, and if so, whether this dumping has been causing injury.
