Erdemir decides to terminate partnerships in ArcelorMittal and Borcelik

In an official statement sent to the Istanbul Stock Exchange, Turkish integrated steelmaker Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari T.A.S (Erdemir) announced the company's decision to terminate its partnerships with ArcelorMittal Ambalaj Celigi in Borcelik Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S.

In its announcement, Erdemir said, "Upon the BoD decision dated September 11, 2008, our company has decided to terminate the commercial agreement it signed with ArcelorMittal Ambalaj Celigi Co. and Arcelor Packaging International SA on October 17, 2002, as well as its partnership with ArcelorMittal Ambalaj Celigi Co. in Borcelik Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S."

Erdemir stated that, taking into consideration the recent developments in the global steel markets, it has decided to terminate the partnership in question.
