Eight die in gas leakage at iron-making plant of SGIS Songshan

Guangdong Province-based Chinese steel rolling and processing company SGIS Songshan Co., an affiliate of Guangdong-based Shaoguan Iron and Steel Co. (Shaogang), has announced that at three o’clock on the morning of February 5 a gas leakage occurred at its iron-making plant, as a result of which 18 people suffered gas poisoning, eight of which have died. The condition of the other 10 stabilized after receiving emergency hospital treatment.
