Duferco and Donbas have signed a cooperation deal

According to recent news in the market, Swiss steel trader Duferco and Ukrainian industrial group Donbas have signed a cooperation deal. In the framework of the deal, Duferco will add plus 4 million tons to annual steel trading activities of Donbas, which currently produces 7.5 million tons of steel products and 7 million tons of raw materials annually. Parallel to this, Donbas will acquire an equity share in Duferco. According to statement made from Duferco; the officials of the company think that, cooperation deal will be useful for both companies, as they are competing in the sectors of different products. Donbas produces billet and bloom (semi finished), while Duferco's current suppliers are mostly providing finished products. With the deal, Duferco will be trader of Donbas' products, while Donbas will have the opportunity to access world market via Duferco.
