Northeastern China's Liaoning Province-based Dongbei Special Steel Group recently announced its success in its project for developing nitrogen-added non-quenched and tempered steel (S38MnSiV) used for engine crankshafts, on which it had been carrying out research for two years. With the development of this product in line with the required standards, domestic engine crankshaft fabricators will now no longer have to rely on offshore suppliers.

The product in question has many virtues such as high strength, high tenacity and creep resistance. Furthermore, it can help to simplify heat treatment procedure, thereby reducing pollution as well as shortening the production cycle.
