Dofasco signs technology agreement with JFE Steel

Canadian steel producer Dofasco has recently announced that it signed a Technology Cooperation Agreement with Japanese steel producer JFE Steel. According to the deal, JFE Steel will supply product and process technology to Dofasco's automotive steel producing unit in Windsor. Dofasco and JFE Steel are joint venture partners in the unit called DJ Galvanizing. The unit was built in 1993. The partners in 2003 signed a long-term agreement, which enables Dofasco to use JFE Steel's 50% production capacity in DJ Galvanizing. Dofasco offers 400'000 tons of high-value added automotive galvanized products to its customers in North America.
