DOC amends CVD duty on flat rolled products imported from Brazil

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) on September 17, 2004 terminated the countervailing duty (CVD) suspension agreement on hot rolled flat rolled carbon quality steel products imported from Brazil upon the request of Government of Brazil, and imposed countervailing duty order on subject products imported from Brazil in place of the suspension agreement. The CVD order was effective as of September 26, 2004. In the termination notice, DOC inadvertently listed separate countervailing duty ad valorem rates for Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (USIMINAS) and Companhi Siderurgic Paulista (COSIPA). However DOC determined a single countervailing duty rate for both companies should be calculated. Therefore final countervailing duty ad valorem rate for USIMINAS/COSİPA is as follows:

Manufacturer/exporter Net subsidy rate

USIMINAS/COSIPA...........................9.67%
