Construction starts on new steel industrial park in Shaoguan, Guangdong

Construction of a new steel processing industrial park has commenced in the district of Qujiang in Shaoguan in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, according to local Chinese media reports.
 
The overall project site covers 2,000 hectares, while annual output revenue from the industrial park in its first phase is expected to amount to RMB 10 billion ($1.6 billion). The project is being carried out by major Chinese steel producer Baosteel, together with the Shaoguan and Dongguan municipal governments. The activities of the industrial park will be focused on steel processing, auto parts, mechanical equipment, and powder metallurgy.
