Color coated coil price remains steady

SteelOrbis Shanghai This week, the market price of color coated coil continued in its quiet trend. In addition, the market trading volume and market inventories of color coated coil remained unchanged from last week. Ex-factory prices announced by some steel mills this week are also unchanged from previous levels. On December 8, the average market price of 0.476mm color coated coil was RMB 6,697/mt ($856), down RMB 10/mt ($1) compared with last week; while that of 0.4mm color coated coil was unchanged at RMB 7,110/mt ($908).Meanwhile, the average market price of 0.286 mm color coated coil imported from Taiwanese Yieh Phui was RMB 8,000/mt ($1,014), also unchanged from last week. Customer demand was still at a low level, while the market trading volume did not see any turn for the better. The available supplies of color coated coil in the market have been at a constant low level for a long time now, and so the market price of color coated coil has remained comparatively stable. Meanwhile, with the steel mills still focused on exporting their galvanized coil and color coated coil, their supply to the domestic market has stayed at a low level. Finally, there was no change in the ex-factory prices for color coated which were released during the week by Wuxi NewDaZhong, Angang and WISCO, which is another factor supporting the stability of the market.
