Coal shipments by China’s railways down 11.1 percent in January-July

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that in July this year coal shipments by Chinese railways amounted to 165 million mt, down 11.4 percent year on year, while in the January-July period coal shipments totaled 1.187 billion mt, decreasing by 11.1 percent year on year.
 
In the January-July period this year, the railway line from Datong, Shanxi Province to Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province transported 240 million mt of coal, down 8.9 percent, while the railway line from Houma, Shanxi to Yueshan, Henan transported 96.72 million mt of coal, declining by 10.2 percent, both year on year.
